When the Djungle people approached us to design the identity and overall ‘look’ of their nature resort and turtle sanctuary we decided to take a hint from one of nature’s hardiest survivors – the turtles themselves.

Penarek Resort, in Terengganu was a run-down old home stay based on a serene stretch of beach on the East coast of Malaysia. The location is special as it’s recognized as one of the protected turtle hatching areas for several species including the Greenback Turtle. For centuries these majestic and placid creatures have crawled up the sands to lay their eggs, hopeful that enough babies will survive hatching and the dangerous journey to the waterline.
